First off,I believe that this advertisement for 'Slumdog' has actually hurt it's box office.I begrudgingly went to see the movie last weekend because this ad does not make it look like my kind of movie.

Secondly,I could not have been more wrong.'Slumdog Millionaire' deserves to win every award it is up for tonight.

Part 'Huck Finn';part 'Oliver'; part romance,hell,even part 'Scarface',this is an intense,nay,gritty movie.

I never thought I would enjoy a movie about the Indian version of someone winning on,'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire'...but there you are.

This movie is well filmed,acted,edited and especially written.It is one of my top movies.

Racism Is As Racism Does

OK,will someone please explain to me why even though the top political cartoon is based on a current news story of a chimpanzee attacking people and the bottom images are of former president Bush being compared to a chimp,that I fine the top cartoon so racially insensitive and wrong,yet I still fine the one on thee bottom so totally fun and funny???

I have been taking a beating from my ever growing legion of atheist/agnostic friends.That is why I was comforted by this 'Time' magazine cover story that explains the science behind the faith.One question remains to be asked...why would we be hard wired this way?

I love plowing snow...you see some beautiful sights......Orion,the moon and Venus last night in a purple sky...aaah...
