Time to Ketchup PT I

It is time to 'ketchup' on some old postings.First off,to you hotdog snobs whom think only mustard is allowed on hotdogs(I'm talking to you Chicago),Cleveland stadium mustard is the best in the world! But It's my wiener,I'll do what I want with it!!! I will use a mustard colored font-just for you:-)
Secondly,as a Browns fan,in the photo,I am wearing my Browns cap,and I have reversed the photo.I am pro-ketchup{ and Catsup,as well},but I am no Steeler fan.I will use this yellow colored font just to show that their are no hard feelings.
Now,Considering my Gillette Fusion razor.I have shaved with it five times and Robyn has used it,at least, once, and to my surprise I am still getting a very close shave...still no knicks...though I did have to use some of my shaving skills to make the most of the blade to smooth the hard spots. Also,I like the single blade. It comes in handy.I know I can squeeze another good shave out of it.So,the Fusion has somewhat surprised me.I can't wait for the six bladed razor to come out.
I have finished Joe Lieberman's book(remember this book was published in 2000).Ends up,he is as wishy washy as I thought he was.He is for PAC money, the religious right, lobbyists, working with the GOP,pro war to solve problems and ashamed of Clinton.

Time To ketchup PT II

Washington,Jefferson,FDR,JFK all did worst things then Bill.I consider all these men good presidents. To put it another way.A guy where I used to work(I'll call him by the fake name of Sam) was really putting down Mr.Clinton on this subject. He was blasting the president to no end for having sex outside of his marriage. He asked me how could he explain this to his six year old son when he saw it on Tv?I said,he should blame the news channels not Bill, because this by right is none of the public's business. He countered that the president is a very public figure, therefore we have a right to know.It could affect how he runs the country.

I asked him about the guy here at work having an affair.Did it affect his work? Now,Sam liked this guy-everyone did.And the man was a hell of a worker,"No way.If anything,he works harder,"Sam smirked,"But the President is different."

I told him I agreed. The president has men taking bullets for him.He is the leader of the free world. Then, just to push his button,I said,"Do we really want a president with blue balls running this country?Do we really want a president with his finger on the button,or invading Iraq because Nancy,Barbara,or Laura isn't gonna give him any until he does?Shouldn't the nation come first?"

I was just being facetious, just trying to get a raise out of him.I only half meant what I was saying, but to my surprise,he agreed with me.But then he said,"Yah,but he's still an ass."

This left me wondering how Joe Lie-berman was thinking about all of 'W's actions.Well,Joe is still on his side.I am glad the voters voted him out.Us democrats have to clean our own house first.

Joe is also a big big Business guy.He claimed that America has a shameful lack of values. He blamed the entertainment industry first and foremost,The media, second, and politicians third. No where did he blame Wall Street.

And that is whom I think is most to blame.Advertisements! How many naked or half naked people are there on Tv ads,Magazine ads,Billboards?People trying to get you to drink their beer, buy their car, shampoo, razor, aftershave, deoderant, perfume?

And not a mention from Joe Lieberman.

Star Wars vs Star Trek not really

Stephen Colbert vs. Rancor
Stephen Colbert set geeks to moving by doing a green screen action skit and letting them go wild.I think this is the best of the best.Captain Picard is a friend of mine...and you are no Captain Picard...as seen in this fun,if not a tad too long video.
PS,Thanks to Mixter for her Blogging skills and help.

Katrina-Mississippi-Mission Trip PT I

From June 10th through June 17th, my church(The First Untied Presbyterian Church of Bellefontaine)sent most of our high school youth group and some chaperone's(a group which included my wife Robyn, and two of my sons,Nikolas and Tyler) to Longbeach,Mississippi.Their mission was to help in the Hurricane Katrina relief effort in any way they could. In the honor and memory of all the people affected by Hurricane Katrina I am posting photographs of their trip without comment. The pictures speak for themselves.

Mother Love

I love watching a great Tv commercial.Let's face it,there is no way around them, anyway. In order to...force...myself into enjoying them more,I have become a connoisseur of fine television advertisements.I rank-like any good Tv or movie reviewer/critic-with a scale. In my case 0-5,5 being the best.Usually there is no creteria to the rating system, except that most fives usual entertain me,and sell(or at least, make me remember) their product. There have been a rash of good ads lately. Here is a one worth watching:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GQBABkFI34 I love the line,"You never hated me,and you never will."

Almost A Year

It is now been almost a year(Aug 29th) since hurricane Katrina hit.In Iraq, big businesses like Haliburton are misspending billions of our tax payers money-half ass building things, not building things and subcontracting and sub sub contracting out contracts immediately pocketing even more of our money. If they have the a-typical gov't no bid contract, then even their fines are paid by us.The president, vice president and their cohorts at the very very least are showing a very big conflict of supposed interest by their (ex)companies making all of this $$$.Meanwhile,it has been a year since hurricane Katrina.Support our troops/Support our country:Vote Democratic

More Fake UFO's

Hi,Gang,Here I am keeping you up to date on fake UFO's.
All of these photos are supposedly 'doctored'.In other words:FAKE,FAKE FAKE.

But since I have actually seen an Unidentified Flying Object,
I am just wacky enough to believe that these could be fake fakes.
Keeping it real,TheDrew

Pluto-That Mickey Mouse Planet

Alright,I've had enough of this crap, already. And I know,I know, that there are bigger problems facing this world, but downsizing the planet Pluto{http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14489259/}?Geez,we're downsizing everything these days! What are they gonna do next, out source Pluto? This here is just plum crazy.

These crazy scientists have been waffling back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, just on where to put Pluto. If they keep it a planet, then moons will have to become planets, asteroids could become planets, hell hemorrhoids circling your Uranus could be labeled as planets(aah, scratch that).

But,Pluto-the Mickey Mouse planet that it is-doesn't really qualify as being a planet.Hell, there are bigger odder shaped things out there that are truely better defined as a planet then Pluto.Really,Pluto just isn't a planet.

What a quandary.Nobody wants to just have eight Planets instead of nine. That would be like downsizing Rhode Island and only giving us 49 states! What to do?

Here is my nit-wit solution:Grandfather Pluto in as a planet.Set these new rules, but leave Pluto alone. It's been a planet soo long, why change it now?

Of course,Disney could claim it,and simply call Pluto,'Planet World'.Then it would have an official title as a planet and as a world, and we all know, you can't change official titles(well, unless you're getting married;-).

If fact...while I am at it...Why is Goofy still considered a dog?He sure isn't classified as one.'Ah-Yep,haw,haw.Sure,"sure doesn't sound like a dog to me.Now,Pluto....man,now,there's the DAWG.

I say,"KEEP IT REAL!KEEP PLUTO A PLANET!"

Happy 48th Birthday To Me

Happy 49th Birthday to me.Yes I turned the big four-eight Wednesday(Aug,23).

I don't know how the family did it,but I woke up this morning to a brand new Lane reclining chair!WoW!That is way more then I ever thought I would get for my Birthday. While Robyn(her first day with students)and the boys went back to school,I spent the day talking to friends and family on the phone, and /or blogging my way through the day [ I actually found this to be a fantastic couple of ways to share my birthday].After everyone got home,Robyn,Nikolas,Tyler and Adam took me to AppleBees in Marysville for super.I had the riblets and a Bluemoon. This was one great birthday, and I am thankful that I got to share it with so many of my friends and family, and now get to share it with everyone else. Now,sigh, back to reality.

Joe Lieberman & The Dollar Tree

I have different sources to buy my books.Wal-Mart;The local bookstores,Half.com,the mall bookstores, and my absolute favorite place to buy good books:The Dollar Tree.I have gotten sooo many good books from the Dollar Tree that I consider them #1 for books that I actually read.Love reading about politics? The Dollar Tree is the place to get a good read...and for only $1.00!I have gotten books by Stephen King,Tom Clancy,Arthur C.Clark,Michael Moore,John Kerry, etc.I have bought books there about the Arab culture,Enron,Bill & Hillary Clinton...just fantastic books.Recently,I bought Joe Lieberman's,published in 2000,book,'In Praise Of Public Life'.Personally,I find Mr.Lieberman to be somewhat dry and wishy washy, but this is a good book about becoming a politician. He talks in pre-9/11 terms about being an honest politician(Never do anything you don't want to be published on the front page of a newspaper). He talks about not shaming his family, and doing the correct thing. He tells how he beat an incumbent(How ironic is that).Though I am only a quarter of the way through the book,it really makes me think how much the integrity of politicians has fallen since George W.Bush has taken office...don't we just expect sooo much less now-a-days?This book has really got me thinking. And isn't that a sign of a good book?Maybe, part of me is glad Joe Lieberman lost his primary because I think of him as a traitor to the cause...or maybe it is because I just don't think he is dirty and corrupt enough to play hardball with the GOP/Carl Rove Machine.Hmmm.I find myself wishing that it was 2000 again.Maybe because after starting to read this book I am ready to start dreaming, again.

B-25 Mitchell

Ironically,I missed the Bellefontaine airshow this weekend, but on my way to Springfield to pick up bathroom supplies,I saw this warbird parked on Grimes Field in Urbana. This a WWII bomber known as the B-25 Mitchell.

Some B-25 facts:This is the breed of plane made famous in 1942 by taking off of the USS Hornet in the Doolittle raid over Toyko. In 1945 a B-25 crashed into The Empire State Building. And most importantly,my Uncle John flew and taught other pilots how to fly these very beautiful(yes, and somewhat romantic)war planes.I want to Thank all of the pilots that ever flew this plane to help keep our country safe,Thank you.

The Saudi-facation of America

Greetings my fellow bloggers.First and foremost,I want to give a shout out to one of my favorite bloggers,Mixter Mix.You can reach her well written, and always current blog by just clicking on to her link on my side bar.Secondly, her post linked me to another blogger, called The Other Side Of My Mouth, whose post( http://othersideofmymouth.blogspot.com/2006/08/so-Osama-walks-into-this-bar-see.html ) really got me to thinking....which is trouble in itself.

According to this blog(Hey!Read the whole thing yourself), "Osama got what he wanted. There's no mystery about what Al Qaeda was after. Like everyone from the Girl Scouts to Bono, Osama put his wish on his web site. He had a single demand: "Crusaders out of the land of the two Holy Places." To translate: get US troops out of Saudi Arabia.",followed by this little nugget,"George Bush gave it to him. On April 29, 2003, two days before landing on the aircraft carrier Lincoln, our self-described "War President" quietly put out a notice that he was withdrawing our troops from Saudi soil. In other words, our cowering cowboy gave in whimpering to Osama's demand."

Now,I don't really know if this is totally true,or not.Do we have any troops left in Saudi Arabia? But that is just the point-if we do-How come I don't ever hear about them being there....and if we don't........

.......Then just like,God bless his soul, good ol' Ronny Reagan, while saying that the U.S.A. will never deal with terrorists,Georgie thinks it was justified to secretly do so.And it stinks to high heaven.Just like it is in the realm of possibilities that Ronny's henchmen made sure that our American hostages sat in Iran until he was sworn in as President(!),it now seems just as possible that 'W' did the same thing by secretly placating and bowing to the Saudi's wishes. If you remember your 9/11,most of the snakes on the plane(s) were Saudi's.{To my knowledge, none were Iraqi}.THEY BLEW US UP JUST BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T LIKE OUR STINKING ASSES ON THEIR SACRED SOIL!

But hey,as a man of faith,I must respect their faith views, right?Just because they believe differently then me,does not mean that neither they or I am wrong. If they believe that I stink up the joint...well,they're not the first.I suppose it is their nation, their religious and political beliefs. If killing me just because I am a Christian is their way...who am I to object?

For I am a Christian. You are right to assume that I-yes,I-believe just like George W.Bush,'That the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ."

But...that is were Georgie Porgy and I part ways.He believes that unless you accept Jesus Christ as your savior you are doomed to hell forever. In his view you are lesser if you don't believe the way he does.I,on the other hand, believe that Jesus purposely gave his life to his enemies;purposely forgave the very people who took his life:died, rather then fight back, because he died for all of us.Put simply,if I believe as a Christian that Jesus died just for those that believed in him,I am a fool.If you have to believe in him to achieve salvation, then why did he die? What would it have proved?Nothing.Salvation is a gift from God.That I gain nothing over my brethren that do not have my faith means absolutely nothing to me.To me,heaven is just a plus.Where I gain, where my strength lays in that I accept Christ as my savior.I know(and anyone that knows me knows:-)just how hopeless I really am.I could never achieve salvation on my own.I have Christ with me-through thick and thin.As a Christian,I have the faith of my Lord with me.When I fail(which is allot),I have Jesus to comfort and guide me.When I win,I have Jesus to thank.Man,I love being a Christian.

By this time, you are probably going, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, when is he ever going to get to the point?

My point, for better or worse(I say better)American was/is based on a Judeo/Christian philosophy. Christ believed that all men are created by God.America believes all men are created equal.(Of course, men meaning humankind).

The Saudi way, though, perhaps, good for them,is not based on what America is based on.And when George W.Bush starts saying that if you don't believe in God the way he does, then he(George)is wrong. This is not Saudi-Arabia,George.You are our President, not our Prophet,God King.I will follow what I believe Christ wants from me,and my country,to do,not what some man-you and your pinions-says I have to believe. My leader is not my holy man.You are neither holier then me,nor any of my fellow Americas.

If you believe that God put you into your position, then you must also believe that if you don't do his will,he can replace you.Do not let the tongues of false prophets sway you.If you believe that the American people put you where you are*snicker*,then listen to their voices.Either way,as Bob Dylan says,"You gonna have to serve somebody."

Gillette Fusion Pt I

OK,I admit it,I am a sucker for something new.I went to buy new razor blades for my old 'four' bladed razor, and the price for new blades was more then buying a new Gillette Fusion five bladed razor. Now,I like shaving in the shower,so I thought I would give it ago and report back to y'all.

Alrighty, then, here we go,off on adventure and consumer honesty .
