So what? The Bible is not just a book etched in stone(except, maybe, the 10 Commandments),but the living breathing word of God.
For example, when Jesus says,In Heaven I have many mansions,I take this to mean that as a mandate for mankind to explore the stars,to bravely go where no man has gone before(except there always seems to be someone already there!!!)
It is a how NOT to book just as much as it is a how to book.
For instance,I have always been for marriage equality even though the Bible wants to throw in some land and some sheep;I say my wife has enough land and sheep...she's just gonna have to marry down..
..but,I agree with The Bible about not joining two fabrics together..that just creeps me out...
I guess I just don't understand this new breed of duck dynasty faux Christians that say the Earth is only 6,500 years old and Jesus rode a dinosaur(except the Bible has unicorns, and unicorns are cool).I don't understand why,all of the sudden, they believe the Bible should be the new science book in schools?..
...except that I do...
They are using the Lord to destroy everything new and uncomfortable.
..then why aren't they against Wal*Mart?!?Most of their clothes are new and uncomfortable.
I am reminded of the New Testament story of the lady at the well...
...wait ..let me get back to that...
these etched in stone fellows..if everything in the Bible is always correct and never changing...ok..if this is true,than..umm..old testament...'new' testament???
How can that happen exactly?
If everything is all honky dory in the old how or why can you bring in the new?
If the Bible is all infallible, can the old ways be so wrong that you had to have a new?
Wait...I suddenly understand I-Phones.
Well,to get back to the lady at the well..Jesus said drink of me,and you will never thirst again.
That story always reminds me of some of us super rich folk...I mean..how much money is enough?!?There is never enough...there is the constant THIRST for more.
"Drink of me and you will never be thirsty again."
WoW!
Good stuff.
The corporations-in their thirst-in it's constant preachings to covet- is throwing down the bottom line that want is the true Christian value.Thirst,my friends, stay thirsty.
This blasphemy has been incorporated of an ever growing segment of our Christian culture turning it up on it's ear.
The only thing new and improved these duck dynasty faux Christians don't want is the spreading of the Christian message to these other folks that don't act and look like us.
"But he can't be a man 'cuz he doesn't smoke the same cigarettes as me"
Therefore negating everything Jesus spoke about!
Whatever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me.
In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom. “And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.’ “But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony. ‘And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who wish to come over from here to you will not be able, andthat none may cross over from there to us.’ “And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, that you send him to my father’s house—for I have five brothers—in order that he may warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ “But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ “But he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!’ “But he said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’”
Yeah,I don't believe that the Good book is a book etched in stone(not even the umpteen versions of the 10 Commandments).I believe that it is the living breathing word of God.
Tired of the same old testament?Get the New(and improved) Testament,Now in a Bible near you.
