Alright,I admit it.This blog can get pretty damn boring.I am long winded and I tend to over think things...but here is the rub.I love Star Trek.I would not call myself a Trekker or anything, but I sure do like all of the Star Trek Universe.I thought of an alternate universe version of Star Trek The Next Generation where all the main characters are black....or reversed...wouldn't that be cool.Of course I am thinking that Michael Jordan would make the perfect Jean-Luc.Number One would be Sinbad.Terrence Howard would be Data.Hulk Hogan would be Worf.Deanna Troi would be Parminder K.Nagra(from E.R.). Commander Dr. Beverly Crusher would be Halley Berry. And of course Jordi would be still played by LeVar Burton.
So what do you think, close,or no cigar?Spike lee would be Q.

Much as I like LeVar, if you follow the rules of a reverse universe, Jordi has to be white. (After all, you threw The Hulkster in there. Might I suggest The Undertaker as a alternative for Worf. He's got the perfect voice for a Klingon.) Let's see, for Jordie you need someone cheerful with a good smile. I suggest Pierce Brosnan. You might also try James Earl Jones as Jean-Luc. It's an interresting concept all around. Spike Lee would probably want to direct. I fully support your choice of Halle Berry!
I only included LeVar as Jordie as a joke because in some circles it is jokingly said that he acted too white on the series.I never thought that myself. He is one of my favorite characters.J.E.Jones,in my opinion,is too old and too heavy to play Jean-Luc.He has the voice.Your idea of the Undertaker is good.Perhaps the character that plays Eko on Lost would make a good Jean-Luc.This is fun
So, who's going to tend bar in 10 Forward? If you don't mind switching gender, too, Robin Williams would be fun. Don't know how up you are on British actresses, but I think Joanna Lumley (Of Absolutely Fabulous fame) could pull it off nicely. She's also a brilliant comedy writer. I'd love to see her take on Guinan.
Ha!!! Robin Williams would be perfect.I will have to do some reserch on Joanna Lumley. You make her sound terrific.
You know Williams would wear drag to get the part.
I saw him in concert once with Chevy Chase and Peter Paul and Mary.I also saw Steve Martin in concert. There is an advantage to being old;-))
I adore Steve Martin as a writer! I highly recommend his novella "The Pleasure Of My Company!" In fact, I have it on tape read by Mr. Martin. It's delightful!
I am, however, disappointed that he would take part in a Pink Panther remake. Good films should not be remade! And really, even Steve Martin couldn't follow Peter Sellars!
I have read two Steve Martin novels,'Cruel Shoes',and 'Pure Drivel'.I loveed them both.I suppose Steve would be funny in Pink ,but I too, loved the Peter Sellars movies -just classic,I love them(Even 'A Shot In The Dark')
I have "Cruel Shoes," but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I've read about half of "Pure Drivel." I love the piece about his birdbath.
Steve is a very gifted writer.
And my mom keeps reminding me that he's single.
Actually, you two would compliment each other quite nicely:-((
Yeah, but he never calls.
..there are other fish in the sea..sometimes you just have to go fishing....
I think my line is tangled.
well-yank on it a while, you never know...there may be a fish on the end of the line...
Do you realize how many ways that could be taken?
yes-that is why I said it:-)
naughty!
