B-25 Mitchell

Ironically,I missed the Bellefontaine airshow this weekend, but on my way to Springfield to pick up bathroom supplies,I saw this warbird parked on Grimes Field in Urbana. This a WWII bomber known as the B-25 Mitchell.

Some B-25 facts:This is the breed of plane made famous in 1942 by taking off of the USS Hornet in the Doolittle raid over Toyko. In 1945 a B-25 crashed into The Empire State Building. And most importantly,my Uncle John flew and taught other pilots how to fly these very beautiful(yes, and somewhat romantic)war planes.I want to Thank all of the pilots that ever flew this plane to help keep our country safe,Thank you.
