The memorial is currently on display on the front Logan County Courthouse lawn in Bellefontaine,Ohio.
The Zimmers came up with the idea after their only son,Nicholaus, died in Iraq.It came as a way of helping to keep his,and the other Ohioans memories alive.
Mr.Zimmer is quoted as saying,"It helps the hurt go away, and it is when I am not setting up the flags that it hurts. He continues onto say,"I keep thinking,I'm just dreaming, and I'll see him any day ,now."
Three hundred of the flags are donor flags. One hundred and fifty of them are to honor the fallen Ohio hero's.

In Akron they had the same display, but it was either 2000 or 2500 flags and you could sponsor one of them. I did not go over and see it. It had to be impressive looking.
It was very dramatic for our small town. Both touching and real.
What a lovely way for the Zimmers to work through their pain. That must be an even more striking sight in person. Thank you for sharing the photo, Drew!
Wow. What a tribute. I hope this helps the Zimmers, and reminds everyone what is going on!
